Phones 4u cuts prepay prices as Christmas countdown begins
Retailer drops prices to up the competition with non specialists and Carphone
Phones 4u is looking to seize the Christmas prepay market after cutting prices on many of its pay-as-you-go handsets.
The retailer has gone toe-to-toe with low-cost non-specialist rivals, such as Asda, Tesco and Argos, with some prices slashed by up to £70. The cuts also bring many of Phones 4u’s prepay prices in line with Carphone, which also reduced pay-as-you-go prices recently.
Phones 4u’s biggest price drop is on the LG Viewty, which has come down from £199.99 to £129.99. Meanwhile the Samsung U800 price has dropped by £99.95 to £79.95 and the Nokia 6300 price has dropped from £79.95 to £59.95. Many other handsets have also been reduced.
