List of Most Downloaded iPhone Apps is Full of Frivolous Crap

With Apple hitting the 10,000 app milestone, they've just released the stats for the most downloaded apps in a number of categories. And boy, they sure do prove that you people like frivolous, stupid crap on your iPhones. Seriously, Koi Pond is the top paid app overall? No wonder we're in a recession, all that money spent on Koi Pond could have bailed out one of the big three automakers. And why isn't Bloom in the top music apps? Get on board with Bloom, people.

Joost Launches A Broken iPhone App

Joost launched their iPhone application on the App Store this evening, giving users access to 46,000 Joost videos, including major television shows and films. No Black Friday Blues for iPhone

Even if others are worried about the iPhone, Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) isn't. Not yet, anyway. The iEmpire chose not to discount its 3G handset for today's Black Friday sale at its retail stores. And what deals it is offering are, at best, meager:
  • iMacs are on sale for between $51and $101 off, but not the highest-end model, VentureBeat reports.
  • MacBooks, but not the MacBook Pro, are also selling for between $51 and $101 less.
  • All iPod models feature anywhere from $11 to $21 in discounts.
  • Apple TV gets a $21 haircut.

Translation: We're still Apple, and it's still going to cost you a premium to buy our stuff -- especially the iPhone.

iPhone Advert is banned by Advertising Standards Authority

The use of ‘very fast’ in TV advert misleads viewers on the iPhone’s internet capabilty

An iPhone 3G television advert has been banned as a result of a judgment from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The ASA ruled that the advert wrongly advertised the device in terms of fast internet speeds.

The ruling marks the second time Apple has breached standards. The first time was in August and was over misleading claims on the navigation of the device.

The use of ‘very fast’ repeatedly in the advert caused 17 viewers to complain about the advert.
